Lana Del Rey’s Video Games released this week after already securing over 2 million YouTube hits. The song was named “Best New Track” by Pitchfork and was featured on The CW TV-Series Ringer. Tickets for Grant’s show in London sold out in half an hour.

Her voice is so captivating. It’s so unique and never heard a voice like that.

Such a lovely song, I’ll be too selfish not to share.

This is the full song

And it’s used on the Twinings advert, just out this weekend in the UK – lovely animation not to forget to mention.

Coldplay’s 2011 evolution…

By Matt in Music

Coldplay continuing the evolution…

Following the release of Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, Coldplay are now working on some new material – and that’s always a good thing!

They played most of these songs for the first time at Glastonbury 2011 last Friday saying:

please forgive us for playing some new songs; one day they’ll be your favourites

Esperanza Spalding

By Matt in Jazz

Esperanza Spalding! She needs no introductions! (and I can’t belive that we haven’t blocked about her yet!)
At just 26 (she’s 25 days younger than me!) she won a Grammy for best New Artist (beating Justin Bieber!)

I was lucky enough to see her perform at the Malta Jazz Festival where she was amazing; playing with that charm and aura which surrounds her – here are 2 memories

Willow Smith

By Matt in Pop, R&B/Hip-Hop

This kid is way too cool at just 10yrs. I know these videos are not really new, however it’s a pity not to have a post here

Her attitude is impressive… look at the interviews below
and her expressions are really a photocopy of her parents – Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith!

Birdy

By Matt in Acoustic, Alternative, Folk

Don’t know much about her except that she’s only 14! Definitely someone to watch out for.

Here’s her cover of Bon Iver’s song Skinny Love – and I don’t actually know which one I prefer!

Stalko – White Lies and more…

By Matt in Acoustic, Alternative

Last December, Danii wrote a post introducing Stalko just before their intimate gig at Coach and Horses. The gig was brilliant and we were really delighted with the fine acoustic melodies together with intricate song writing – really good stuff.

They’re back with some new stuff… the videos below are still very fresh from yesterday’s live performance
